Clarks’ final sale of 2022 saw some great jewellery & collectable results. Auctioneer Paul Clark added, “We were extremely pleased with how the sale of this type went, with nearly 90% sold. Some of the brown furniture, in particular mahogany utility type, struggled badly, so we’ll have to review whether that can be considered suitable for future sales, however, more importantly, the right lots made the right money once again for our sellers”.
An antique jade necklace saw interest at £480 while bids of £470 were received for a 9ct gold bangle. A five stone diamond ring of 0.6ct secured strong interest at £400 while a pair of antique Chinese jade bangles secured impressive bids of £330. A Victorian oil lamp saw a determined room bidder overcome internet interest from Australia & a silver mounted moonstone pendant came good at £85. The sale was once again well attended, with a very busy public viewing & hundreds of online bidders.
We have seen a few changes in 2022 & recently said goodbye to Emma Powell, our long term administrator. We were very sad to see her take early retirement but wish her very well on her travels & new experiences. We have two new members of the team, Kate & Kirstie, both of whom have settled in very quickly & bring very different skills sets. We are sure they will both prove great assets to the saleroom going forward.
Our New Year’s Day sale is approaching fast & consignments are invited now. We already have some great entries for this & the catalogue is expected to be completed by mid December so be quick. www.clarksauctionrooms.com 2a2b Heathlands Road Ind. Est.
